About the opportunity | Mo te whai waahi
This fixed term role through to March 2027 is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of a major technology migration, transitioning core platforms from on‑premises to SaaS and cloud‑based solutions. You will lead the execution phase, managing schedules, dependencies, risks, and stakeholders to ensure delivery on time and within scope. Working closely with senior sponsors, internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors, you will provide clear visibility of progress, risks, and decisions. This role requires a confident, delivery‑focused Project Manager who can operate at pace while minimising disruption to the business.
Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi
- Own and manage the project schedule, tracking progress against milestones and dependencies
- Coordinate delivery across internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors
- Manage the migration of data, integrations, and operational processes to a SaaS environment
- Identify, manage, and resolve project risks and issues, escalating early where required
- Maintain core project artefacts including status reports, RAID logs, and decision registers
- Provide regular, clear reporting to project sponsors and key stakeholders
- Facilitate steering committee and working group meetings as required
- Coordinate business readiness activities including testing, training, and cutover planning
- Ensure a smooth handover to BAU teams post go‑live and lead project closure activities
- Role‑model client‑first behaviours and ensure alignment with regulatory and conduct standards
What you will bring to the role | He aha ka kawea e koe ki te mahi
We require that you have:
- 3–5 years’ experience delivering technology or infrastructure projects
- Proven experience managing system migrations, SaaS implementations, or platform transitions
- Strong grasp of project management fundamentals including scheduling, risk, and reporting
- Experience working with technical teams and external vendors to deliver outcomes
- Background in financial services, wealth management, or a regulated environment (highly desirable)
- Clear communicator able to engage both technical and business stakeholders
- Highly organised, proactive, and comfortable working at pace
- Project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) or equivalent experience (desirable)
