About the opportunity | Mo te whai waahi

As a People & Performance Adviser, you will support consistent, high‑quality people outcomes across the business through practical, first‑line HR advice and delivery. Working closely with the Senior People & Performance Partner, you will play a hands‑on role across recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and people initiatives. You’ll contribute to wellbeing, engagement, learning and DE&I activity while ensuring People processes are delivered efficiently and professionally. This role is well suited to a proactive HR professional looking to deepen their advisory capability in a supportive, values‑driven environment.
 

Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi

  • Provide practical first‑line HR advisory support to people leaders and employees on policies, procedures, and employment matters.
  • Support performance management activities including goal setting, reviews, development actions, and improvement plans.
  • Deliver end‑to‑end recruitment for agreed roles, from role briefing and advertising through to offer and onboarding preparation.
  • Partner with hiring managers to manage recruitment timelines and deliver a positive candidate experience.
  • Assist with employee relations matters including meeting coordination, documentation, investigations, and follow‑up actions.
  • Support onboarding, induction, and offboarding processes in collaboration with the People & Performance Coordinator.
  • Contribute to wellbeing, engagement, learning and DE&I initiatives, including coordination of events and activities.
  • Prepare People reports, dashboards, presentations, and insights for leadership and governance forums.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and support continuous improvement of People processes and tools.

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring to the role | He aha ka kawea e koe ki te mahi

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Experience in an HR Coordinator or Junior HR Adviser role, ideally in a professional services or corporate environment.
  • Sound working knowledge of HR fundamentals including recruitment, performance management, and the employee lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and HR best practice.
  • Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • Eagerness to build capability and progress a career in HR advisory.
  • High energy, great chat and eager participation in a bit of team banter!
