About the opportunity | Mo te whai waahi

As an Advice Assurance Specialist, you’ll play a key role in supporting the quality and integrity of advice across JBWere - the Wealth Management arm of FirstCape. Working closely with advisers, leaders, and the wider Risk & Compliance team, you’ll conduct structured reviews and provide practical insights to strengthen client outcomes. This fixed-term opportunity offers strong exposure to advice governance, regulation, and continuous improvement in a highly respected wealth management environment.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi

  • Conduct structured reviews of financial advice, portfolios, and client records to assess suitability and alignment with advice processes 
  • Apply risk-based monitoring approaches using data and insights to identify themes, trends and improvement opportunities 
  • Provide clear, balanced and practical feedback to advisers, supporting uplift in advice quality and consistency 
  • Partner with advisers, advisory leaders, and Risk & Compliance teams to support strong governance and client outcomes 
  • Support delivery of reporting and insights to senior stakeholders and governance forums 
  • Assist in enhancing advice compliance frameworks, policies, processes and monitoring tools 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across advice processes and record-keeping practices 
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture that supports learning, development and shared success

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring to the role | He aha ka kawea e koe ki te mahi

We require that you have:

  • Preferably some experience in or exposure to financial advice, paraplanning, assurance, or monitoring roles 
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to carry out structured reviews and document findings clearly 
  • Developing knowledge of financial services regulation and how it applies to advice and client outcomes 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide constructive and practical feedback 
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with confidence using data to support risk-based decision-making 
  • A proactive, self-managing approach with strong prioritisation and organisation skills 
  • NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) or similar (would be advantageous)
