About the opportunity | Mo te whai waahi

This fixed-term role through to March 2027 is accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of a major technology migration, transitioning core platforms from on‑premises to SaaS and cloud-based solutions.

You will lead a multi‑workstream transformation across applications, infrastructure, and business processes, owning delivery outcomes across internal teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors. The role requires strong control of schedule, dependencies, risks, and governance to ensure delivery is on time, within scope, and minimises disruption to the business. Working closely with senior sponsors, you will provide clear visibility of progress, risks, and decisions, operating with pace and discipline to drive outcomes in a complex, regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi

  • Own and drive the end‑to‑end project schedule, tracking progress against milestones and dependencies
  • Lead delivery across internal technology teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors
  • Manage the migration of applications, data, integrations, and operational processes to SaaS and cloud platforms
  • Identify, manage, and resolve risks and issues, escalating proactively where required
  • Maintain strong governance including status reporting, RAID logs, and decision registers
  • Provide clear, concise reporting to sponsors and stakeholders
  • Facilitate steering committee and working group forums
  • Drive business readiness including testing, training, and cutover execution
  • Ensure structured transition to BAU teams and lead project closure activities
  • Operate with urgency and delivery focus, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations
  • Role‑model client-first behaviours and align with regulatory and conduct standards

Desired Skills and Experience

What you will bring to the role | He aha ka kawea e koe ki te mahi

We require that you have:

  • 5+ years experience delivering complex technology or infrastructure projects
  • Proven track record delivering system migrations, SaaS implementations, or platform transformations
  • Strong project governance capability across scheduling, risk, reporting, and stakeholder management
  • Experience operating in complex, multi-stakeholder environments with external vendors
  • Background in financial services or regulated environments (highly desirable)
  • Confident communicator with ability to engage at both technical and executive levels
  • Highly organised, outcome-driven, and comfortable operating at pace
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile certification or equivalent experience (desirable)
