We’re looking for a Business Systems Analyst to join our Technology team and play a key role in supporting and enhancing the systems that underpin our business. This is a broad, hands‑on role where you’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to maintain, improve and evolve business systems, drive automation, and simplify processes. 

You’ll be part of a collaborative environment where your work will have real impact across the business through system, infrastructure and process change, while supporting FirstCape’s vision to be the Most Trusted Investment Manager.

Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi

In this role, you will: 

  • Maintain, monitor and enhance key business systems including MS Dynamics, Vermilion Reporting Suite, BSP and SharePoint using best‑practice processes 

  • Manage system testing, change management and user training 

  • Proactively engage with business users to ensure systems are used effectively and identify opportunities for continuous improvement 

  • Deliver high‑quality analysis of business needs and recommend fit‑for‑purpose solutions 

  • Support the adoption of AI‑enabled tools such as Microsoft 365 Copilot and Power Platform, including user enablement and training 

  • Act as a conduit between the business and support partners to manage environments, infrastructure and cyber hygiene 

  • Provide advice on system and process change impacts to support informed decision‑making 

  • Troubleshoot application and infrastructure issues and manage vendor engagement through to resolution 

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and support broader business and technology projects

You’ll bring: 

  • Strong technical and creative problem‑solving skills with a customer‑focused mindset 

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts for non‑technical users 

  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build strong working relationships 

  • Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting and documentation skills with high attention to detail 

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a timely manner 

  • A desire to learn, innovate and stay current with technology trends 

Ideally, you will have: 

  • A degree or training in a technology‑related field 

  • 1–2 years’ experience in a technology support or systems role 

  • Experience with Microsoft technologies including Office 365, Dynamics 365, Power Automate, Power BI, Copilot and SharePoint 

  • Experience analysing and solving business problems and driving process improvement 

  • Exposure to SQL, agile ways of working, data management or analytics (advantageous) 

  • An understanding of the investment management or financial services environment (advantageous)
