This is a part time role, working 3 days per week in our Christchurch office.

Our Private Wealth Associates are a key part of the Advisory capability for JB Were one of our Wealth Management businesses here at FirstCape, providing essential support to the Advisers, ensuring they run an efficient and client focussed operation. The Private Wealth Associates’ role is the key client contact and provides full support on all non-advisory client needs, as well as maintaining all compliance records to the highest standards to ensure we keep the Firm and clients safe.
Key Responsibilities | Ngā Kawenga Mahi
Taking ownership for new client onboarding, including meeting all regulatory requirements, coordinating any transfer of assets and ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
Acting as a key point of contact for private wealth management clients.
Responsible for accurately and promptly managing client transaction requests, including forex and equities/bond trades.
Producing and distributing client correspondence, including financial reports, corporate action notices and research.
Monitoring settlements, debit balances, daily reports and scheduled client transactions.
Coordinating client correspondence, including marketing activities, reports, new issues and client letters.
Providing full administrative support for private wealth advisers, allowing their focus to remain on portfolio management.

We require that you have:
Strong team focus with a proactive approach to tasks, always showing initiative.
Presentable, pleasant and positive client focussed demeanour.
Outstanding communication skills both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and accuracy are essential due to the nature of the role.
Ability to effectively prioritise, meet deadlines and have flexibility in approach to meet client requirements.
Problem solver, always thinking outside the box with a focus on continuous improvement.
A proficient working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite of programmes is essential
Up to date regulatory and compliance knowledge, including AML legislation and FMA requirements.
A working knowledge of financial services market terminology is helpful, but not essential, as training will be provided.
Awareness of share registries processes – for NZ, Australia and overseas markets would be of benefit.
Previous experience.
Experience in the financial services sector, preferably in a client facing relationship management role.
Strong administrative background managing a large and varied portfolio of tasks.
