Job Description

About the opportunity | Mo te whai waahi

JBWere is seeking a passionate and experienced Researcher to join its Philanthropic Services team, a division dedicated to supporting for-purpose clients across Aotearoa New Zealand. This unique role bridges the philanthropic and wealth management sectors, contributing to JBWere’s mission of creating a more prosperous New Zealand. You’ll work alongside a values-driven, interdisciplinary team to deliver strategic insights and practical tools that help charities, iwi, foundations, and other purpose-led organisations achieve lasting, positive impact.

As Researcher, you will lead sector-wide research projects, develop thought leadership materials, and design resources that support governance, strategy, and impact measurement. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external knowledge partners to produce flagship reports, course content, and tools that inform and inspire our clients. Your work will directly contribute to the growth of JBWere’s for-purpose client base and enhance the firm’s reputation as a market leader in ethical investment and philanthropic advisory.

This role based in Auckland with some domestic travel required. It offers the opportunity to work closely with JBWere Australia and FirstCape Group, engage with senior leaders and clients, and represent the firm at sector forums and events. If you’re a strategic thinker with deep experience in the for-purpose sector and a passion for research and impact, we’d love to hear from you.
